A part-time pick-pocketer

[Scarlet]

Scarlet shook her head, her sides shaking slightly with laughter that was building up inside her. " Yes, he looks fairly dumb. This one's mine." Scarlet said, and walked over to him, on wobbly legs . She sat down roughly next to him, pretending to be tipsy. " Ah, 'ey there, matey!" She shoved into him 'accidentally', nearly tipping herself and her chair over. The weasel snarled at her " 'ey, watch what'cher doin' there, an' git out!" He shoved her roughly out of the chair. She stumbled, but caught herself before she was sent tumbling to the ground. " Watch'er own self, stupid!" Scarlet snarled back, her claws scraping against themselves as she flexed and clenched her paws simultaniously. The weasel ignored the venom in her voice, but Scarlet decided to leave without hurting him. After all, she got what she wanted; tucked into her shirt was the weasel's purse, which she had snatched when she bumped into him. The little scene wasn't very noticable in the fighting and gambling of everyone else in the large, overly crowded tavern. She made her way back to her seat, mumbling insults and curses at the weasel under her breath. When she got back, she smiled; Stealing was her game to play.

*Firestripe couldn't help but let a hint of a smile cross his features, though on him it looked more evil than impressed.* "Nice work, I barely even saw the grab and that was with me paying attention. How much out of pocket is the stupid beast now?" *He hadn't actually seen the purse himself so he had no idea how much it had in it.*

[Scarlet]

Scarlet smiled and drew the purse out from her shirt. She weighed it in her paw, then looked in it. "Ah, seems to be quite a bit, though not as much as the rats was." She gave it to Firestripe. " Care for another round of drinks?" Scarlet said, and drew out a coin from her purse. " Another round." She said curtly to the bartender, as she slapped the coin down onto the table. She quickly finished off her old drink in one swig.

[Firestripe]

*Firestripe raised an eyebrow.* "Doesn't look like I've got much choice, do I?" *For a matter of fact, Firestripe's glass was still over half full so he took a long draught of it to get it down to a quarter. He then weighed the money bag in his claws and glanced inside of it, nodding approvingly.*

[Scarlet]

Scarlet set down her now empty tankard. She looked around the room, searching for likely prey. "See anybeast else, Firestripe?" Scarlet said.

[Firestripe]

*Firestripe glanced around the tavern once again. This time the target would be smart-ish and sober. About the only beasts that were both of those at the moment was some pine martins and foxes that were gambling their money away.* "Well, if we want a real challenge, we could always go for one of those gambling pine martins or foxes. No beast is smarter than a fox though so it would prove interesting, to say the least." *He couldn't help but feel superiority for his own species. Besides, in most cases this proved true. Just look at Scarlet and himself; both foxes.*

[Scarlet]

Scarlet nodded and said " Aye, foxes are the smartest beasts!". She held her head a little higher with pride. Her tail was halfway curled around her waist, glowing a golden red color in the firelight. She stroked it, thinking about new techniques for stealing, as she would need something very tricky indeed if she were to filch from a fox. She sipped from her tankard thoughtfully.

[Firestripe]

*Firestripe was doing much the same thing, apart from stroking his tail. If they wanted this to work, they would need a good plan.* "Well, I'm pretty sure we'll have to work together if we want to nail this one. Maybe act like were gonna join in the game and act like we're gonna help him out because we're all foxes. That would get him into a too trusting mood so we could lighten his purse a bit, maybe." *It was just the bare outlines of a plan, just voicing what he was thinking of off the top of his head.*

[Scarlet]

" Maybe." Scar said shortly. She wasn't in the mood to talk. Infact, Scar had these little peculiarities often and was quite moody. " Maybe" she said agian, mulling the idea over in her mind. She looked at the fox, and he seemed an intelligent beast. She nodded her head "Yes, that might work." She said. She nodded agian and stood up. She stretched and flexed all four of her paws a little and began to walk towards the fox. It was time to begin the game again.

*Firestripe stood up as well. It seemed they where going to go through with the plan only half made. He had no idea how in the end they would actually get the purse off of the fox. Just that they would gain his trust. Plus it seemed that the captain wasn't in a talking mood anymore which was what made Firestripe not voice his concerns but simply follow Scarlet.*
