Scarlet stepped forward to a clearing in Mossflower, where a stream sang its melody against the rocks. Its song was broken by the rough voices of Scarlet and her group as they entered the clearing. Most of the crew were left on the ship in River Moss; Only the best warriors and foragers came with Scarlet today. Their mission was to do as pirates always do; Pilage and plunder the poor creatures of Mossflower! Scarlet found the best spot in the clearing; A cozzy bed of moss at the base of an old oak that rooted itself close to the stream. Even being a harsh piratess captain as she was, she secretly loved the sound of running water. She found it calming, a nice reprieve from the rough life of an everyday pirate. Grabbing a few dry twigs and a nice thick hunk of branch, she deftly took her knife and made a shallow firepit. Selecting a bit of flint from her pouch, she struck it against the edge of her knife and the sparks that flew from her blade caught a dry twig. She soon had a nice roasting fire near her camping place. The other crewbeasts were doing the same. A crisp autumn wind rustled through the trees and caused Scarlet to shiver. She edged closer to her fire, and set a fat trout to roasting above it on a stick she held.

*Firestripe, being the best warrior, though not so much forager, on the Night Pearl was obviously on this little plunder trip. If he had been told not to come then he would have made a fuss that would've been all sorts of scary. Seeing as how Scarlet was the one that chose who goes, he knew that he would definitely be going. Currently he was meandering his way around the camp, getting a head count to make sure everybeast was there and, at the same time, working his way over to Scarlet. This was a pretty nice place, what with the nearby stream and relative peacefulness of the area. After confirming that all that had been chosen for this missing were indeed there, he sat himself down besides Scarlet.* "Well, everybeast is here, none of 'em got themselves lost... you cold?" *He asked, for he had indeed noticed her shiver not but a few seconds before. He himself was not cold in the least, but that was due to his fur that was ever warm for some reason.

"Ah. There's Mr. Stripes. Lookin' out for ole' cappy, eh?" A voice said. Soon after, a large wolf could be seen moving through the groups of crewbeasts there, his ribs and abdomen area taped heavily. The wolf could be none other than Vorai, the best shooter the Nightpearl ever knew. ( ) His stomach was still taped from where Fang shot him. He somehow survived, but luckily, his captain killed him. "How's it going, sir, and cap?" He asked quite happily, despite the pain in his abdomen area. "Look, cap'n, I know I shoulda stay aboard the Nightpearl, seeing as how I am the second mate and all that, and hurt, blah blah blah, but well... I want some action. I've been stationed to a bunk ever since Fang shot me! C'mon. Don't send me back." There was slight sarcasm and mock pleading, but it was so little, it would be hard to pick up. The wolf winked at Firestripe, "How goes it, ole' stripey. By the by. How old are you?" A question that somehow popped up. Maybe to stall the fox so he wouldn't interfere if an argument were to break out between Scarlet and Vorai, but surely something like that couldnt keep Firestripe at bay for long. If shackles couldn't, could words? Vorai's breath smelt of heavy liquor, so that might explain it. A hangover. Vorai's favorite thing about being a pirate was drinking, but his least favorite was hangovers, and for a reason known to others, but unknown to Vorai, the two always came hand in hand. One minute you're drunk with no headache, singing shanties with mates, and then boom. Once you wake up it (hangover) nails you. Well, the way Vorai put it was: No sacrifice, no gaining victory, though for him, the victory was first and sacrifice was after. Odd. Maybe one day Vorai could change that. WHo knows. OOC: Sorry... Somewhat babbled on with Vorai's thoughts. Lol. And why's Mr. Stripes the "best fighter" on the Nightpearl, eh? *nudge nudge, Wink wink* Well... If he's "Best Fighter", Vorai's "Best Shooter". Humph. Lemme add that.

"Yes, a bit, I suppose." Scarlet said, answering Firestripe's question. Then she noticed Vorai. Scarlet smiled at Vorai what seemed a friendly smile, though behind the facade her anger was boiling to a point of explosion. "What are you doing here, Vorai? You are supposed to be in your bunk, letting Lanark and Yelta take care of you. You are in no shape to be out here as of now. You should go back to the ship..." She let the last sentence hang, sort of a 'or else' kind of warning. It was absolutely unbelievable that Scarlet could keep such calm, considering that Vorai had gone against direct orders and was here begging not to be sent back.

"Oh, Cap, please dont yell. My head hurts." He said, even motioning to his head. "Look, I'm sorry, alright? I wanted fresh air, and I wanted to be out in Mossflower again, not stationed to a bunk. It's no fun." He said the last line like a litle child throwing a tantrum. Definitely the liquor. "Just please, cap, don't send me back there alright? There makin' me drink nasty liquids and all that crap. Just dont send me back. Ill lay down if y'want." He said, even folding his hands and pretending to sleep. Yeeeaaa. Definitely the liquor.

*Firestripe decided to intervene before Vorai really set Scarlet off. He knew Scarlet too well to be fooled by her friendly facade. He could tell that her anger was boiling just beneath the surface, she didn't take not being listened to so well. He jumped up before either Scarlet or Vorai could get another word in, put a friendly arm around Vorai's shoulders and started to lead him away from Scarlet, giving Scarlet a look that said 'Don't explode please'.* "I think somebody had too much to drink, mate. How 'bout we get you settled beside one of these nice, warm fires so you could get some rest, hmm?" *Then he said in what seemed to be a conspiratorial whisper.* "Don't worry, I'll make sure that she doesn't send you back." *Firestripe had said all of this in a very friendly tone. He was usually a good mate to the crewbeasts on-board Scarlet's Nightpearl, as was shone here, and did his best to keep them out of trouble.*

Scarlet took a deep breath to calm herself. She didn't really want to explode on Vorai, but she couldn't help it if he pushed her over the edge, even if totally unintentionaly. That was just her nature, and she could hardly ever stop it from happening again and again. Satisfying herself with a hateful glare at Vorai, she composed her features and acted as if Vorai was just 'whatever'. Her fur tingled with agitation, but she did her best to ignore that. She really, really didn't want to cause a scene, so she acted as if nothing had happened between her and Vorai. Looking over to where Firestripe was leading Vorai, she caught the Don't explode, please' glance from Firestripe. She sat there, waiting for Firestripe to come back over so they could talk...

Vorai was looking all over the place at the crew nesting on the grounds, and he sighed. "Please don--" He was stopped because Firestripe led him off to another area. He couldn't really see what was going on, but when Firestripe turned he had a feeling he either chuckled, glared, or whispered. Whatever it was, Vorai was too drunk to comprehend it or figure it out.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure that she doesn't send you back."
"Thanks *burp* cap." He whispered, even though Firestripe wasn't the captain. "See you later, sir."
OOC: Sorry... in a rush...

*Firestripe saw Vorai to a likely looking fire and let him be.* "See ya, Vorai." *He said in response as he started back towards Scarlet's fire. He didn't exactly know what to expect, he had saved her some trouble in dealing with Vorai, but then again, Vorai had disobeyed her orders and gotten away with it, at least for the moment. Scarlet could very well be upset with him and he would understand why, he just hoped that wasn't the case. He would obviously have to go with any orders she gave him because even though they were in a relationship and very much in love, she was still his captain and he had to follow her orders. He finally made his way back over to her fire and sat himself down beside her again with a sigh.* "Glad that's over with..."
