One-eye was laying down on the table snoozing in the kitchen and heard Taggle crying. He quickly sat up and scooted off and rushed to him. "Was' wrong, matey?" He said picking him up and sitting down on the cot holding the little one in his arms.
It brought back so many memories to One-eye doing this. Memories of his own son when he was little. It felt good to be able to do it again...

The little mouse cried and lay his head on One-eye, paws and tail quivering. He shook his head and sniffled, eyes wide with fear. Forgetting what he had been told about the sea, the mouse jumped at the sound of the crashing waves, slightly disoriented.

"oh yeah..." The mousebabe whispered, lying on One-Eye. The little mouse fell back asleep quickly, forgetting about his nightmare, snoring softly, then eventually sucking on one of One-Eye's paws as the fire died down to a slow ember. The morning SUn rose in due time, an orange ball over the sea.

The Sun light up the holt but didn't penetrate any of the living quarters allowing the holt to sleep till they woke up naturally. One-eye woke up and began to move. The Dibbun was still asleep and sucking on his paw. He carefully sat up, clutching onto the dibbun and held him close to his chest and walked out of the kitchen into the main area. The fire was simmering with a small portion on smoke rising from the coals. An otter that awoke walked by and saw One-eye clutching the dibbun. "Got tired of sucking your thumb 'eh? Got somebeast to do it fer ya...." The otter said with a laugh and started to walk off. As he walked away One-eye kicked the back of the otters knee causing him drop to his knee. One-eye looked down at him and smiled. "This coming from a beast who still hasn't learned how to walk..."
One-eye would soon need to get breakfast started for the entire holt...then inform the Skipper of the little one. For now though he was focused on the little dibbun. He Kept the Dibbun wrapped in the blanket and kicked the dibbun's old clothes in the coals which kindled the Fire quiet well. He would make the Dibbun new clothes eventually. He set the dibbun on the floor next to the fire and against a warm stone.

Taggle woke up, looking around him. He pulled the blanket close, beginning to murr the warmth. sleepily, he rubbed his eyes and stretched, looking outside the holt to the Sunrise. The little mouse toddled over and looked down at the sea, wagging his tail back and forth. "Wow..." he said. The sun had lit the sea from behind, turning it into a wonderul hue of orange and blue. Waves lapped softly at the shore, bringing with them shells and driftwood. He pulled on One-eye's paw, pointint down. "Da sea?" He asked, tilting his head. Taggle squirmed from foot to foot, drawing the blanket closer about him, looking around for this clothes.

"Da sea?"
"Aye. See? Not a snake..." He said looking at the dibbun searching for his clothes. "Here.." He said taking the blanket from around the dibbun and using his knife to cut a slit in the middle making a poncho. He stuck the slit over the dibbun's neck and pulled it down to his shoulders. It was a perfect fit... "Ya hungry?" he asked seeing that the rest of the crew was beginning to stir. "Wanna help me with breakfast?" He asked, trying to get the dibbun involved and doing stuff to keep him active. The Skipper wouldn't be up for a while. He always liked to sleep late. This gave One-eye more time to think of how he would explain things to the Skipper.
One-eye started walking to the kitchen.

Taggle nodded, examining his new poncho. He followed behind the otter, pounching, then playfully riding on his tail. the little mouse giggled as he did this, grinning from ear to ear up at One eye. As they entered the kitchen, he grabbed a blunt knife from a low shelf, brandishing it like a sword. "I chop up alla stuffs!"

One-eye looked behind him as The mousebabe rode his tail and smiled. Reaching the kitchen he began to get things out.
As they entered the kitchen, he grabbed a blunt knife from a low shelf, brandishing it like a sword. "I chop up alla stuffs!"
One-eye stood behind the mousebabe and grabbed the knife as he swished around. "No you don't" he said continuing the smile He picked up the mousebabe and put him on the table and handed him a wooden sthingy. "Ya' get to mix up all tha' stuff!" he said picking up a bowl and putting it next him. "Watcha' think?...Scones and Cider or Shrimp cakes and ale...?" he asked letting the dibbun choose his first meal to prepare.
