*Firestripe froze, his muscles tensed as if trying to fend off the barbed words spat in his direction. He didn't know what to think; he couldn't think. He was getting what he deserved and it hurt, it hurt more than he could have imagined. His head hung and his ears drooped, he felt almost like when he'd first thought that Scarlet was gone. Like he'd just lost everything all over again. Something gripped his heart in a crushing embrace and he simply wanted to curl up and shut out the world. Even so, he knew he couldn't do that, that kind of attitude is what got him in this position in the first place.*

*His voice was rough and barely audible, there wasn't anything more than that he could say. He'd already promised his heart to her, it was hers to keep or to break. There was nothing he could do except hope and pray that she could forgive him. His life was, by all means, in her paws. She was the only that had this kind of control over him.*[/color]

Scarlet watched as Firestripe recieved the damage from her words. She felt horrible, worse than horrible. It felt as if she had ripped his heart out of his chest, and he looked like she had. She couldn't take it. She couldn't take it one second more. She walked to the other side of the table. Her tone softened significantly " I forgive you... You just," She paused, her voice catching slightly, " You just can't abandon me again..." She looked at him, her eyes serious and reproachful. She knew that she couldn't let him off so easy, he wouldn't like that. She forced the reproachfullness into her eyes, even though she didn't feel that way at all.

How come we can't just go back to the way we were? She thought, sadness creeping into her eyes. We can still fix this, we can...
