Appearance: Appearance wise, Rid looks like your common fox corsair. He is a bit undersized, but never enough to be considered a runt, although he does take short jokes very seriously. Rid has a medium build and dark brown eyes. His fur has never been as red as some foxes, always closer to a rust colour. Rid also has fairly impressive spiky tattoos running across his shoulders and down both arms to his elbows. Rid is usually armed with several daggers and his favourite weapons; his two tonfas and a skinny black dagger.

Personality: Rid is cunning, clever, very devious, and, at times, apparently devoid of any sort of conscience. Rid epitomizes what it means to be a fox. However, Rid is also lazy and cannot seem to trust anybeast for any length of time. As a result, Rid is constantly looking over his shoulder. Rid's sharp tongue has gotten him into trouble several times. He's not afraid to say what he's thinking, and he's usually thinking something mean. Rid is ambitious, to a point. He always assumes he wants more power, but then often regrets it when it finally happens.
When he should have been working, or at least doing something, Rid has racked up hours practicing with his tonfas and his daggers, making him a very dangerous opponent. Still, Rid would rather kill any potential opponents before a fair fight can even begin. However, if forced to fight fair, Rid is still dangerous. His skills make him very deadly in the early going of a match, with a dangerous quick strike ability. Rid lacks the stamina to keep it for an extended period, though, and has a habit of getting bored with longer fights and will just walk away.

History: Rid's mother, Dwolyne, was a beautiful vixen from a island tribe. His father was a corsair. The details have always been sketchy for Rid, since Dwolyne would never talk about them when he was growing up. From what he has gathered, Dwolyne was taken from her island home by Rid's father (whom Rid naturally assumes he was a captain. More than likely was not). When Dwolyne got pregnant, she was dumped in a scummy Corsair town. Dwolyne raised Rid herself, teaching him to use the tonfas that she herself had been raised to use. As soon as he was old enough, Rid left home and started working on pirate ships. One Captain in particular, a short searat, took a liking to Rid and saw much potential in his cunning. He took Rid under his metaphorical wing and taught him the way of the sea. Rid ruined the relationship when he overheard the captain joking about Rid with the first mate. Rid got into his mind that the captain was keeping him around as a joke. Since the searat actually trusted Rid, he never even saw the dagger that killed him.
Realizing what he had done, Rid fled the ship (luckily it was in dock at the time), taking his captain's prized dagger with him. Since then, Rid has floated between several pirate ships, often leaving when he's worn out his welcome (often by killing somebeast or stealing something), earning himself the nickname 'Sinner,' by those that know him best. Still, if a captain can corral the fox, a lot could be gained by having Rid on your crew.

You know, after reading some of the other bios, there seems to be a glut of foxes on this board. I just created Rid, so I'm more than prepared to change his species without really changing the character. I was thinking ferret.

Also, I was wondering which ship you wanted me on. I left it blank, cause I don't really care.

I was just wondering if your not doing much posting because we haven't placed you in a ship yet because if thats the case then I can fix that pretty quickly. Yeah, at first it was that I wasn't assigned to a ship. I figured I would wait a bit, then ask again, but, before I could, life intervened. I had a busy few weeks (Fringe Festival in my hometown) then my internet was down for awhile. But yeah, like I said, I don't really care. Just stick me where I'm needed.

This is a post from the last Redwall club I was heavily involved in, Zokrodis. Silverstreak the skunk was captain there, of a ship called the Trident. The navy wasn't very popular there, and, as a result, Silver was the only beast on his ship, so I invented a bunch more. At this point in the story, the Admiral/Empress of the Island has been sent to a remote beach to make a prisoner exchange. Silver recieved his orders to move his ship, quiet like, into the bay near the beach. The only thing is, he's been away from the action and got his orders from a fellow captain, not the Empress herself (the only beast on the island he really trusts). The following is several posts.




Silver stood near the helm of the Trident, watching as Joryndo barked orders to get the massive warship underway. Revan stood nearby, manning the helm as usual. The vixen rubbed her arms nervously, as if she was cold or just nervous. Silver waited with his paws in his jacket, until Joryndo was quiet.

"Joryndo, find me the best archers in the crew, keep 'em ondeck. Raptorr, go down below 'n supervise the oar team. They could probably use yore 'elp. Make sure all those sails are furl'd. We run silent. Anybeast talkin', loses 'is tongue." Satisfied, the skunk turned from his crew to let them go about their work. The oars came out of the middle decks of the Trident. Their rhythm grew stronger as they rowed, and the the ship began to move out of the bay.

Joryndo came up to stand near Silver and Revan. He saluted. "Captain, I have a theory I wish to discuss with you." Silver nodded for the ferret to continue. "It concerns Captain Dianthe possibly being a traitor." Silver snapped back to Joryndo, now very intrigued. Revan gave a slight gasp. Joryndo looked around, confident that nobeast other than the three of them was in hearing range, then continued. "First of all, she is relatively new to the island. While she appears trustworthy, she has not yet proven herself in anyway."

"That seems like one big assumption, Jor," Silver responded.

"That may be," the ferret said, "but I've been considering her orders. So far tonight, we have had no contact with any beasts but her, and our orders have come only through her. The orders themselves are interesting in the fact that seem to deal with keeping the Trident's crew far from the situation and, most importantly, out of contact. Most troubling, I find, is the fact that Captain Dianthe has appeared to have lost her northern accent."

Joryndo had a good point, the skunk thought. Dianthe had been acting odd tonight. Even Revan's faith in the ferret seemed shaken. "Is she leadin' us intto a trap?" the vixen asked.

"I'm not sure," Joryndo resplied with a shrug. "It seems unlikely, since the orders were to run silent. If it was an ambush, I would expect she would want us to be more noticeable."

Silver scratched his ear thoughtfully, a habit he had when in deep thought. "Still, it's just a theorey," he decided, the word 'theory' sounding odd coming from the pirate. "We'll keep our ears 'n eyes open. Just te be careful, let's 'ave a little surprise waitin' fer anybeast 'o might cross us. Joryndo, tell Zoe te get 'er crew in position. Tell Deavon te seal off my cabin, so no light can get out, 'n tell 'im te get ready te make a small fire in my little stove. I got a plan."

Post 2 - The oars of the Trident worked quietly, as the warship glided silently through the night. Still standing nearby Revan, Silver thanked whatever he had chosen to believe in at the moment that the weather was cooperating with them tonight. The air was still and the sea was a perfect mirror for reflecting the stars above. Silver almost wanted it a little rougher, with the night so still he was afraid that his ship could be heard all over the island. The skunk watched as the northern point of the bay disappeared behind them into the night.

"We look clear, Rev. Start takin' us 'round, slowly though."

The vixen nodded and began to spin the wheel. Joryndo strolled back up towards them and saluted. "Deavon's at ready in your cabin, captain. I checked it myself. Sealed tight."

"Good," Silver nodded, unconciously huddling down in his jacket. He looked around in silence, the ship creaking as it turned. "It seems too quiet out t'night. Don't like it."

"Superstitious, captain? Should I bring up crazy Ingles for you to commeserate with?" Joryndo asked with a smile.

Even though Silver, and nobeast else on the ship for that matter, had any idea what 'commerserate' meant, Silver got a feeling that Joryndo was joking. A joke by the ferret meant that even he was feeling the unnerving quiet of the night.


And, finally, Post 3 - The Trident continued to glide quietly through the night. It was peaceful, in a way, and Silver started to doze off, leaning against a railing. Joryndo awoke the skunk with a light shake.

"There's something you should see, Captain," said the ferret, his voice little more than a whisper. The skunk nodded and got to his paws.

Joryndo led Silver along the length of the ship. The skunk could see the most of the archers on deck were catching naps as well. About half of the oars had disappeared, and Silver guess that Raptorr had part of the crew resting down below as well, to make sure they were ready for action. "Where are we?" he asked Joryndo.

"Almost to the jungle," the ferret answered, pointing into the darkness ahead. "We'll be within arrow range of the spot within a few seconds. If our information is correct," the ferret added, a comment made to refresh Silver of his theory. Joryndo stopped and handed Silver a looking glass. "Here. Out to the west, away from the island."

Silver glanced at the ferret, hoping Joryndo would betray some emotion to what he was supposed to be seeing. The stoic first mate did not. Sighing, Silver took the glass and looked out in the direction Joryndo was pointing. "Bloody 'ell," he breathed. Taking his eye away, Silver looked back at Joryndo. The ferret nodded, sadly.

"Another ship, sir. Heading towards the island."
