Scarlet's appearance is one of her best qualities, and is something that she takes great pride in and uses to her advantage often. Her coat is of a scarlet color and flecked with gold when the sunlight shines on it. Her eyes, an average shade of green, aren't all that special, except the fact that she conveys emotions startlingly well through them. She has always been rather tall, even when she was younger. Her strength lies hidden in her slim frame, and due to years of training and diligent hard work she was as strong as the majority of her crew. Like the crew, too, she has no luxuries when out to sea, or even on land. Frivolous objects and vanities have no place in Scarlet's world. The only adornment that Scarlet allows herself is a small gold hoop earring pierced through her left ear, and even this was more of symbol of her life style rather than a meaningless trinket.
Clothing
Scarlet's garb is such that is suitable for her life style, with no unnecessary frills. A simple, tough leather vest lies over a worn white blouse, and a pair of tan breeches cover her legs, tucked into a pair of sturdy leather boots. At her hips she wears a belt, on which she carries her shortsword, pistol and coin purse.
Weapons:
• Lutra; a simple pistol and Scarlet's only firepower, excluding her ship's cannons. She recieved it from an otter when she was young, but cannot remember, today, what his name was - or even who he was.
• Bang and Boom; Scarlet's favorite, and most destructive weapons, are Bang and Boom, two cannons she personally uses. She personally keeps in impeccable condition by cleaning and polishing them daily. She actually talks to them, and seems to favour Bang ever-so-slightly more, but will kill any crew member who even dares drop a hint to Boom.
• Scar; so named for the scratch running up the blade's long, narrow length, Scar is a simple, unadorned blade that is thin, sturdy, and dangerous in Scarlet's paws. It's hilt is tattered, and decayed bandages are wound about it, stains of blood from boths he and her opponent evidence of how little the vixen bothers to change the bandages.

Scarlet was born into a family of pirates, along with four other fox babes after her. Her Mother, Senela was a poor vixen who met with her father, Barbrek, as a cook on a pirate ship. He himself was the first-mate then, and after Scarlet was born he became the captain of his own ship, Red Foam. When she was a mewling infant, her parents took care of her, though they were tough and mean. When she could walk, another babe was born into their growing pirate family, a male which they named Vrescal. The next babe was a female named Sanlia. The next babe was also a female and they named her Marette. Scarlet never got along with those younger siblings of hers, and they ignored eachother most of the time or in Vrescals case, played pranks on them, though not on Scarlet; he tryed it once and got a bloodied snout and his tail bitten. When Scarlet was 11 seasons old her parents taught her how to fight with a sword, dagger, teeth, and claws. They weren't easy on their daughter Scarlet, and after the first lesson she was bruised and busted. They ignored her wounds and let her take care of herself, hoping to toughen her out to a bloodthirsty pirate like themselves. The lessons continued on everyday, and everyday her parents noticed her getting better at dodging, ducking and striking in intricate maneuvers and techniques. Soon, Scarlet was unable to be defeated by her parents and they let a few of the best pirates on their ship continue to teach her. To their surprise, she nearly bested them too and by the time she was 14, they decided it was time for her to leave and make her way in the world. Though Scarlet protested, her parents knew she would succeed in winning herself great things. They left her in a town with a small bit of provisions and a few copper coins. At first Scarlet cursed and spat in hatred toward her parents. Then she set her face with determination. She rose swiftly through the ranks, starting off a mere cooks assistant, she worked her way up and by the time she was 17 she owned her own pirate ship, the Nightpearl. When she was 18 she fought in a great, bloody battle and obtained a fragment of Gazada's famed map. The next year was spent searching for the other five map pieces, but to no avail. At 19, she still continues her frantic search for the map pieces, hoping to obtain them all and get the great treasure of Redwall.
