Sailing Across the Seas

[Scarlet]

Scarlet faced her opponent with a cruel grin. " Fang!" She said, snarling with contempt. Her eyes alight with excitement, she holstered one pistol and in a flash she had her deadly dagger in its place. Armed with that and her other pistol, she approached, her whole being quivering with barely restrained anger and her face void of all fear. It looked as if she were going to spring any second. The rain that now began to fall glistened as it rolled from her scarlet pelt, creating tiny rainbows. She snarled again as she got closer to Fang. " Make your move, wolf."


(OOC: Short, but it got the thread going again, eh?)

"Let me give you advice, fox... Letting your opponent make the first move could kill ye. You dont know what they're going to do. They could shoot you, have someone behind you run you through, there's endless possibilities, but I guess since ya didn't know that, that makes you a poor captain." He winked, and with a roar he held his blade with two hands and charged the red fox, growling, "Hold still so I could use you as a sheathe for my blade." He snarled. He thrust forward at Scarlet's gut, then upwards for her neck.

Zane sighed, and dodged the blow. "Best you can do, fox?" He snapped. But, before he could move again, another blow from Firestripe's sword left Zane swordless. The blow cleaved the blade from the young ferret's hilt, leaving him defenceless. Zane, being defenceless, turned and ran.

OOC: Writers block... Sigh

[Firestripe]

"Coward!" *Firestripe called out as Zane took off in the opposite direction. He stood up straighter, which cause Thaiden's sword blow do cut into his shoulder rather than neck. Firestripe didn't make a noise, he didn't even flinch. He just reacted. Upon feeling the blade cut into his arm, he immidiatly swung Zierstune, his sword, sideways, creating a glittering arc in the air, before he had even turned in Thaiden's direction. This would certainly make his attack more surprising and effective, if nothing else.*

OOC: Sorry it's short, I'm not writing very well right now because I've got a massive headache...

[Thaiden Stormblade]

Thaiden leaped back and flung up his sword in defence. Firestripe's blade slammed into it and sent it skittering across the wet deck. Thaiden ducked under the fox's blade, tucked himself into a roll and came up holding Zane's fallen blade. Thaiden would not be taken down as easily as the young ferret. He slashed sideways at Firestripe's neck again but suddenly lowered it to slash at the fox's gut. He had no time to see how Fang was doing or where Zane had run to. His face was set in a fearless grimace and his eye stared like chips of ice.

OOC: Hey I'm not doing any better than you guys. Let's have a bad post party!!

[Firestripe]

*Firestripe could admire the fact that Thaiden was brave and wouldn't run even after being disarmed so quickly. Even so, he couldn't help but let a smirk cross his face as he saw Thaiden come out of the roll holding the blade that used to go to Zane's sword. One, his range would be extremely limited because it was minus the hilt and two, it was almost certain that he would cut his fingers up pretty badly wielding the blade like that. The huge fox merely took a step backwards as Thaiden tried to slash at him. At the same time, though, he swung Zierstune, which was considerably longer then Thaiden's improvised weapon, at about shoulder level in relation to Thaiden. At this range, Zierstune would shear Thaiden apart, not just cut him, if he didn't move.*

OOC: If you haven't already guessed, Zierstune is Firestripe's sword. Go to my Firestripe bio to see my description of it so you can get a sense for just how big it is. I added lots to my bio, actually... It might be even bigger than Scarlet's bio now!!!! Heck, I'll make it easy on you. Here's the link here...

Before Scar had time to reply to Fang's insults, he was suddenly charging at her. She skittered to the side, but Fangs axe managed to skin a bit of her jaw. It started bleeding profusely. Though it hurt to talk, Scar jeered at Fang and muttered loud enough for him to hear " Yeah, that was so unexpected." in a highly sarcastic tone. She leapt forward and past him, using her dagger wielding knife to try to thrust into his back and her pistol wielding paw to shoot at him at an upwards angle so as to hit his jugular*.

*The green arm is her right arm, the purple one her left, the second figure in red is Fang and the misshapen blob on the end of her right arm is the pistol, and the grey spikey thing coming out of her left arm is the dagger.

[Thaiden Stormblade]

OOC: Whoa. slightly confuzzling for my tiny brain.

BIC: Thaiden dove away under the huge blade as it flew over his head. In desparation he flung the broken blde in his paw at Firestripe's gut. It was a surprisingly good through, though when Thaiden dove away from Firestripe's attack he had gotten several feet away from him giving the huge fox a better chance of dodging the flying blade. Thaiden depretly looked around for another weapons. Seeing a splintered peice of the railing he scooped it up. Great He thought. An old peice of wood against a seven foot long sword. This is going well.

*As the blade came flying towards him, Firestripe stepped back with his right footpaw and placed it in line with his left footpaw, effectively turning his body as a whole and leaving the blade to go soaring past him. He was tiring of Thaiden's persistence by this point for there was pretty much no hope of him winning so as he had turned his body, he drew one of his Sluggers from it's holster at his hip and fired as he brought it up to bear, not even waiting to get it up all the way. This was a heck of a surprise attack if nothing else. Since he had fired as he brought it up to bear, that left an oversized shot flying towards Thaiden's legs, an oversized shot flying towards his stomach and an oversized shot flying towards his shoulder/neck area. Firestripe's Sluggers could fire six times each without reload so he still had three shots left in it before it ran out.*

OOC: I don't know how much you read about Firestripe's weapons, Thaiden, but if you didn't read about his Sluggers then I would recommend that you do so. Just for clarity's sake.

[Thaiden Stormblade]

Thaiden threw down his meager spar of wood and dove over board into the stormy sea waters, out of the way of the sluggers. He had totally forgoten about his own pistol, though it was nothing to to Firestripe's sluggers. It would be ruined by the sea water. Despite this Thaiden swam strongly through the waves to the bow of the ships. Here he found a rope hanging over the edge. Suddenly a rat was hurled through the air and over board splashing down next to Thaiden. The ferret quickly disarmed the rat and killed him not caring that it might be one of his own crew mates. Taking the old cuttlass he had releived the rat of and the long dagger, he clambered nimbly up the rope. He came up in the middle of a chaos. He could see Firestripe's huge form among the other crew beasts, but he was to far away to do anything with out a gun. Stabbing a snarling stoat in the gut Thaiden glanced about for Fang. He was still up by Scarlet fighing. He would be no help to the ferret now.Slashing his way through the fighting mob he made his way toward Firestripe again. This fight wasn't over. He picked up a fallen pistol. Suddenly an idea popped into his head. Fang probably wouldn't mind losing this ship since he had recently capturd two other ships. THis one could be damaged as much as was nessesary. Runnig forward Thaiden found a cannon which was amazingly still loaded. He pushed heavily against the barrel trying to turn it. It moved fractionally. THis was going to take forever. Grabbing a passing fox he growled "Help me move this." The fox obediently pushed the cannon around with Thaiden. The ferret aimed it near the base of the mast. Striking his cuttlass against his dagger he made a small spark that caught to the cannon's firing thinger (I can't rember what it's called right now). There was a huge boom and the cannon shot back, thorugh the railing into the sea. Thaiden of course had forgotten to tie it donw but that didn't matter. The mast splintered under the hit from the cannon ball. Thaiden grinned.

OOC: Hope none of you mind...

[Firestripe]

*That grin would soon likely be wiped off of Thaiden's face. Firestripe had noticed his plans but hadn't gotten over there in time to stop him. Even so, the big cloud of smoke that the cannon had belched out as it fired provided Firestripe with quite the opportunity. He dashed forward and came leaping through the smoke at Thaiden, swinging Zierstune single pawed from left to right at shoulder level for Thaiden and swiped upwards with his big left paw with his long claws outstretched. If one attack didn't hit than the other most likely would. This being because from the angle that Firestripe leaped at Thaiden, simply stepping backwards would do nothing to dodge this very unexpected attack and moving left or right to dodge wouldn't change anything because of the length of the sword and if he simply ducked the blade then he would almost certainly be struck by Firestripe's claws. Besides, there really wouldn't be a whole lot of reaction time on Thaiden's part because it was so sudden and Firestripe had might as well been invisible to Thaiden's eye due to the blanket of smoke that had been between them.
